Programme Note
Introit is conceived as a short and celebratory fanfare. The main motif is a fast triplet idea in the brass which is overlapped many times to produce dense diatonic clusters. The harmonies are generally modal, and all of the material stems from the 'hidden' melody created from the overlapping triplet figure in the opening bars.
