Commissioned by Benslow Music Trust in celebration of the 80th Anniversary of the founding of the Rural Music Schools Association.

Percussion (3 players): Bass Drum, Tam-tam, Suspended Cymbal, Pair Cymbals, Snare Drum, Tenor Drum (or Tom-tom), Woodblock (low), Glockenspiel, Xylophone (ad lib.)

Programme Note

Lasting under two minutes in length, Ibberson Fanfare is a stately yet bright and majestic piece for orchestra. The rhythm of the word ‘Ibberson’ appears as the main thematic motif, and harmonies are based on a combination of modes and bitonal chords.
